Espadrilles are shoes having a fabric upper part and a sole made of flexible material, such as rope or rubber. Traditionally they are flat shoes, the tops usually made of cotton or canvass making them a favorite during the hot and dry weather.

One particular design that I love of the espadrilles are those that come with ribbons that wrap around the ankle and lower leg. They create an illusion of shorter legs for tall people like me and work well with shorts or skirts.
